Painting is often a transcendent experience for
me and my intention is to express that spiritual experience in my work.
My paintings are an exploration of light, color
and space on a two-dimensional surface. I am fascinated with color, with the energy of color and
how it transforms the environment and impacts us.
I experiment and play with color to discover the vibrations and harmonies that color relationships produce.
My process involves layering the paint. The application ranges from transparent stains to
thick, opaque hard edges. I want the canvas to be illuminated, to have depth and reflect light. My intention is to give each work a life of its own that impacts the viewer in a very positive, uplifting way.
